The project is a sidewalk-to-sand, top-to-bottom renovation of a single-family residence originally constructed in 1973. Aetypic completely revamped the 3,500 square foot home, allowing sunlight to penetrate deep into the house. Sliding glass walls allow the breeze from the harbor to provide the structure with a passive cooling system. Full-height glass fenestration encloses a grand modern staircase, the central unifying element of the plan. The glass railing along the beachfront and subtle drought-resistant plantings further enhance the connection between the shore and the interior of the home.
